Tank: the body environment remained almost unchanged over the construction period, so that the choice of the right tank generation could be based on the available immersion tube sensor or upgraded to the latest generation with the help of the surrounding parts. Please plan for freight costs. Roadster and coupe tanks (and fuel gauges) are not interchangeable. The horizontal SL expansion tank was changed from sheet metal to plastic at an early stage, a rare first generation of tanks came with only one ventilation nozzle (later all tanks 5 nozzles). Meanwhile irrelevant: The filling pipe barrier against leaded nozzles as a catalytic converter retrofit additive is obsolete and the cross-section is basically tuned to lead-free in a simplified way. Locking lids for types without central locking can be requested with delivery of documents from MB with desired locking.
Pump package: this illustration is valid for types D-Jetronic, version without evaporation system, pump package without pressure accumulator, if original pump is installed, recognizable by the side pressure outlet. Pump holder and cover changed several times. All changes to the filter were environmentally compatible, the latest version fits all of them, but diameter adjustment before ordering is strongly recommended. When ordering the other components, the execution must be viewed beforehand. Hoses sold by the meter are supplied without a protective cover or insulation.
